- Your pup needs to work on “real life” skills
In Puppy Life Skills class we work on learning new cues such as Watch, Stay, Leave it, and “Go to your spot” while we continue to develop your dog’s social skills and your ability to read canine body language.
Expect to work on the following:
- “turn and go” with distraction
- recall from play
- stay with distraction
- leash walking
- dog introductions
This is especially important work to help your playful adolescent grow into a social and well-mannered adult!
After Puppy Life Skills class your dog is eligible to go onto Impulse Control, Confidence Building with Agility, Intro to Nosework and Tricks class.
At Fido we begin Puppy Life Skills with a single class session for humans only. This session is reserved as a dedicated meeting for Fido Trainers and their Students. Our Trainers discuss curriculum, explore expectations and set personal goals with each member of the class. Our Trainers want to know why each Student registered for the class and what they hope to take away from the training experience. They utilize this time to map out a strategy for success. In doing this we empower every member of the class to hit the ground running in the weeks to follow when the dogs are present and our plans are put to work.
